Historische Stadtzentren im Strudel der Globalisierung Fotoausstellung - 5. Europäischen Konferenz für Gemeindepsychologie (Berlin 2004)

Neapel, Florenz und Berlin: Drei europäische Metropolen, deren historische Zentren auf den ersten Blick mehr durch ihre Unterschiede als durch Vergleichbarkeit beeindrucken. Und doch erbeben sich bei einer etwas genaueren Analyse erstaunliche Entsprechungen in der gegenwärtigen Entwicklungsdynamik. Historische Stadtzentren, die lange im Abseits standen, haben in den letzten Jahren durch Massentourismus und Gentrifizierung einen wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung erlebt, der zu Investitionen mit kurzfristig gesteigertem Profit und zu einem radikalen Wandel der Sozialstruktur geführt hat. Andere mehr randständige historische Wohnviertel zeigen im Gegensatz dazu eine rückläufige Entwicklung: Sozialökonomischer Verfall mit Leerstand und Wegzug ökonomisch besser gestellter Bewohner. Die Ausstellung präsentiert einige Ergebnisse unserer Feldforschungen im Bezug auf die Auswirkungen des Massentourismus auf die urbane Lebensqualität in den historischen Zentren von Neapel, Florenz und Berlin. Die Ausstellung wurde nach dem Modell der Bürgerausstellung bzw. des Fotodialogs realisiert. Die Begleittexte zu den Fotos sind auf Deutsch und Italienisch zu lesen. Die Ausstellung gliedert sich in zwei Teilausstellungen: Neapel und Florenz — Berlin. Sommario [Abstract in italienisch] Napoli, Firenze e Berlino: tre metropoli europee i cui centri storici ad un primo sguardo colpiscono più per le differenze che per le similitudini. Tuttavia dopo il primo impatto un'attenta analisi mostra sorprendenti analogie nelle attuali dinamiche di sviluppo. Centri storici in passato abbandonati per anni hanno di recente sperimentato un boom economico dovuto al turismo di massa e alla gentrificazione. Gli effetti hanno portato ad un temporaneo aumento dei profitti degli investimenti e una radicale trasformazione della struttura sociale. Altri sobborghi storici più marginali mostrano al contrario un processo opposto: degrado socioeconomico dovuto all'aumento di case inoccupate e abbandono da parte degli abitanti economicamente più forti. La mostra rappresenta alcuni risultati della nostra ricerca sul campo in relazione al turismo di massa sulla qualità della vita urbana nei centri storici di Napoli, Firenze e Berlino. La mostra è stata realizzata secondo il modello della "citizen exposition' o fotodialogo. I testi d'accompagnamento delle immagini sono in tedesco ed italiano. La mostra consiste di due parti: Napoli e Firenze - Berlino. Beyond the differences, however, a closer analysis shows astonishing similarities of the current dynamics of their development. Historical neighbourhoods formerly abandoned to decay have recently experienced an economic boom due to mass tourism and gentrification. The result was a temporary increase in profit rates for investments and a radical transformation of the social structure. Other more marginal historical neighbourhoods are showing the opposite process: Socio-economic degradation by the rising rate of unoccupied housing and the departure of wealthier groups of inhabitants. The exhibition shows some results of our field research regarding the influence of mass tourism on the quality of urban life in the historical centres of Naples, Florence, and Berlin. The show is set up according to the concept of "citizens' exposition" or "photo dialogue". The accompanying texts are presented in German and Italian. The exhibition is divided into two parts: Naples and Berlin — Florence.
