Grundzüge einer Fragebogenuntersuchung zur Erfassung von Einstellungen zu Krebskrankheiten : Konzeption, Variablennetz und Stichprobe

Es werden Grundzüge einer Untersuchung geschildert, deren Ziel es ist, die Modellannahmen von Gerechte-Welt-Theorie und Defensivattributionshypothese vergleichend zu testen. Es werden zunächst einige wichtige Planungsentscheidungen und Untersuchungsstrategien erläutert. Dazu gehören sowohl die Wahl des Gegenstandsbereiches (Krebskrankheiten) als auch ein Überblick und eine Systematisierung des Variablennetzwerkes. Besonders hervorgehoben werden die Probleme der konzeptuellen Trennung von Gerechte-Welt- und Kontrollüberzeugungen, der „Zugebbarkeit“ von Gerechte-Welt-Überzeugungen und der versuchten Objektivierung einer Qualifizierung von Verantwortungsattributionen als rational oder irrational, als angemessen oder verzerrt. Die Variablen werden rund um das Kernkonstrukt „Verantwortungszuschreibung“ anhand von vier Fragen entwickelt: (1) Wer ist verantwortlich? (2) Was ist (bedeutet) verantwortlich? (3) Was bedingt Verantwortung? Und (4) Was folgt aus Verantwortung? Anschließend werden Überlegungen zur Stichprobenziehung mitgeteilt, dann die Rekrutierung der Stichprobe geschildert und schließlich einige demographische Merkmale der Stichprobe beschrieben.

Basic features of a questionnaire study are presented which aimed at testing and comparing the theoretical assumptions of just world theory and the defensive attribution hypothesis. First, the basic planning decisions and research strategies are commented, the choice of the exemplifying research topic (cancer) is clarified, and the variable net is outlined. Especially, the problems of distinguishing just world and control beliefs, the problem of confessing and hiding one’s justice beliefs, and the qualification of attributions as rational or irrational, as adequate or distorted are elaborated. The research variables are grouped around the core construct of responsibility attribution and developed using four guiding questions: (1) Who is responsible? (2) What means responsible? (3) What determines responsibility? and (4) What follows from responsibility? Finally, considerations concerning the sample selection are reported, the recruitment of the sample is described, and some demographic characteristics of the sample are presented.
