Fachübergreifender Erklärungsansatz für Schizophrenie

An interdisciplinary approach to schizophrenia

Abstract / Description

Schizophrenic disorders are also puzzling today and there is discontent with the mainly pharmacological treatment, which can only cover symptoms, but can not heal. Moreover new investigations ask whether the pharmacological treatment was improved within the last 50 years, because the metabolic syndrome, which often appears with the new antipsychotics, decreases quality of life and shortens lifetime. It is still speculated about the causes for the first-time occurrence of these mental disorders, while the continued existence of schizophrenic disorders can be explained to a great extent by the Expressed Emotion concept (EE). But the Expressed Emotion concept is not appreciated enough in the clinical everyday life. The here demonstrated phenomenological explanation for the causes of schizophrenic disorders tries to include knowledge of epidemiology, psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapies and neurophysiology with the aim to give suggestions for prevention and treatment.
